Redemption I woke today to the thumping of the heart, and heard - TopicsExpress

Redemption I woke today to the thumping of the heart, and heard again how eager it was to start, for that very dark place I had left long ago, where time once stood still and let blood flow. I guess it was time to bare a truth white, for the past had been cruel but tender was the night. Weak and weary, I pondered for a while, at a face I saw within, hard-cut in guile. There then I found a vicious mind’s thought – Why should I save him, the man I knew not? For it was him in hideous stains of grass whom sin had never left and spring would never pass. The face didn’t answer – was deep set in stone, in a guilt that never let him, nor one he could atone. Can’t I hear its soft sigh or is mercy so hard? Was this its fate – to burn and be scarred? No, it was alive, disgrace it couldn’t owe. The heart was still thumping, and it was ready to go. Red is Absurd
