Reestablishing services for Jaxs is proving to be difficult in - TopicsExpress

Reestablishing services for Jaxs is proving to be difficult in Colorado. Here is one example. The new school (reg high school) wants to place him in the high school, in a multiple disabled room with 13 kids, 4 paras (aids), his own nurse and his own para. No autistic classroom, no adjusted day, cut his speech therapy by 30 minutes before he even starts AND rejecting his existing IEP from NJ. Transportation called yesterday and tried to arrange for pick up at 6:43 in the morning for school that begins at 720 AM. Seriously, this is in no way comparable to his existing services. Now I have to consult with an attorney since iI am refusing to sign the paper acknowledging that the district is rejecting his current IEP, regardless of IDEA 2004..... seriously need services and an education for Jaxs, not more games in a different place. Eventually this will be a better place for Jaxs, but I have to to fight to get him services once again. It should not be this difficult, seriously.
