Ref. 377 CRYPTOZOOLOGY. YETI. HAIR SAMPLE. Todd Standing who has been tracking and researching Bigfoot for years claims that he has DNA evidence that proves Bigfoot is real. He claims a hair he collected a couple of months ago at a research area in southeastern British Columbia has unusual DNA sequences that he believes is linked to the creature. Even though the sample was tested by a lab in Thunder Bay, Ont. which concluded it was human , Standing rejects that conclusion and interprets the results totally differently. cryptosightings/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/todd-standings-300x166.jpg Standing is considered by many in and around the Bigfoot community as a fraud and hoaxer although there are some which believe he may be on to something. He claims the hair sample he has is uncontaminated and cannot be from a human being and everyone he has spoken to about it even say it can’t even be from a known primate. He says he is looking for geneticists to prove that his theory is indeed valid and to verify his Bigfoot hair sample. A site near Radium Hot Springs, B.C. is where Standings says the hair sample in questions comes from and says he had been leaving apples out in wild there and finding them devoured hours later by what he believes is Bigfoot. According to him he has habituated what he thinks is Sasquatch to take food gifts he leaves for them at these locations. The hair collected there which Standing claims was left behind by a Sasquatch has gone through three test and matched human genes. It was also compared to chimpanzees which are the closest genetic relatives to human beings and it was found to match to a degree. Stephen Fratpietro who conducted the DNA tests on the hair sample said that every indication has led him to believe that it looks like a human hair. But Standing says that the DNA sequencing information he has knowledge of cannot find another species of primate or anything else with the same genetic makeup as his sample. He says the results of two sets showed one having 100 percent link to humans and another with 85 percent match to chimps is inconsistent with any documented species and the 15 percent gap is too wide to make it human. This he thinks he clear proof that his hair sample is proof that Sasquatch exists. (Cryptosightings, 12/12/14 [here], Midweek Sport, 17/12/14)
