Referees have a hard job and our game could not function without them. And anyone can have a bad game, including the ref. They deserve a lot of respect as they not only travel the length of the county in all weathers to officiate games, good and bad, youth and senior, they do this for very little reward other than the knowledge they are needed and the pride they feel being an essential part of this great organisation of ours. They also miss the majority of their own clubs matches and I for one dont think I would be man enough to be a ref. Saying that, tonights game against Cookstown,was the sceen of the worst display of refereeing I have ever witnessed. I lost count of the brutal decisions made by the man. The vast majority of them against Clonoe ORahillys. In the last 5 minutes of the match I was convinced that the ref was determined that Clonoe were not going to leave Cookstown with even a point.I have alway took pride in the fact that Clonoe never play like a scccor team, but this evening they were forced to by playing with 11 men.
