Reflecting on Claudias first gymnastics competition season. I am beyond proud of Claudias hard work and dedication. She set goals for herself, improved throughout the season and competed in her first State Cup meet. A strong start on vault with 9.725 was followed by her only fall of the season on bars, scoring 8.525. This tough 8 year old kept her composure (as I was fighting back the tears for her) and went on to score 9.625 on beam and 9.625 on floor, matching her best AA of 37.5. Most importantly, she was part of the most amazing team with coaches, friends and families who lovingly supported each other every practice, meet and playdate. Hard to decide if her smiles and excitement were bigger for her own accomplishments or for those of her teammates.
