Reflecting on Scripture I consider all things so much - TopicsExpress

Reflecting on Scripture I consider all things so much rubbish That I may gain Christ and be found in him. Alleluia, alleluia! The person who professes to follow Jesus must accept the terms of complete dedication. Jesus will not allow anyone to be looking backward or sideways. We must follow Jesus without any hesitation. Lk 9:57-672 “As Jesus and his disciples were proceeding on their journey, someone said to him, ‘I will follow you wherever you go.’ Jesus answered him, ‘Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to rest his head.” “But he answered him, ‘Let the dead bury their dead. But you go and proclaim the Kingdom of God.’” “No one who sets a hand to the plow and looks to what was left behind is fit for the Kingdom of God.” What Jesus is telling them is that his Father’s will guides him to many different places to bring His children the message of salvation. This is what Jesus wants us to do – take the message of salvation out the door with us into the world; in other words take it to the people we encounter during our daily activities. If you make a commitment to follow Jesus He tells you, right up front, there is no looking back – in other words He will not permit you to return to your former life because that is not the way of salvation; it is only by His guidance that you will attain Heaven. Now, of course, we are human and we are going to take a step backwards here and there and Jesus knows this. What He is talking about is He will not permit you to change your heart – and that’s a very good thing because down the road you will be very, very happy He didn’t allow you to do that.
