Reflecting on the recent passing of former ESPN broadcaster Stuart Scott, its interesting to observe peoples theological paradigm when a celebrity dies whom they deem to have been a good person in life, believing that person must certainly be in heaven solely on the basis that he or she lived a good life here on earth. There is nothing like the death of a well-known, generally well-liked person to reveal ones understanding of such biblical doctrines as redemption and justification, as most people still hold to the view that heaven is based on works as opposed to belief in Christ and what He accomplished on the cross.
