Reflection on a Year Guess its that time of year... This has been a pretty hard year for me, an uncertain and unpleasant one of trial and tribulation. Needless to say, the year which arose is hardly the one I thought I was entering into. With that said however, it has also been a really great year of seeing what happens in a tough year amongst family, friends and the grace of God. The thing about being sick is that you quickly find out the quantity and quality of your friends. In that respect I havent been disappointed, and your good wishes, prayers and encouragements through the year with uncertain swings of good and bad news have been a boon to me. Thank you for all your support and the many quarters of my life it came from. To my family in Perth and also all those who have taken time to visit this year, you have been a great comfort (in that warm snuggly sense). Its one thing to know you are loved, and yet another thing when you really sense you are loved, despite your idiosyncrasies! I know some of you have had a long year with other things too and youve been there for me despite that. Particular thanks to my Mum who has been the source of hospital rides when Ive just been out of it, home cooked meals when hospital food wouldnt cut it and innumerable comforts. Thanks also to Ket, it wasnt a great 10 year wedding anniversary. Youve been a silent rock for me, though I believe we established that early in our relationship and thats how you got the job in the first place. I also want to thank the staff at Royal Perth Hospital, though none of them will probably see this. Sure, youve sometimes been infuriating at times, but youve carried me this far! This year has also shown me the goodness of God, through His grace and also the actions of his people at Canning Vale Community Church and everywhere else. I dont know the plans of God, but I am reassured that this is His plan, wherever it may lead. God has raised me up thus far, through zombie times and craziness, Im confident he will sustain me to the end of my days whenever that may be. In summary a good year because of all of you. Andrew
