Regarding IVC: All perfect praise and adorations be to Allaah. We beseech His peace and blessings upon the Noble Prophet of Allaah(alayhi ssolaatu wassalaam). We have seen some of our brethren uprooting fataawa to support their claims. May Allaah increase them in goodness and hasteness towards khayr. However; one very thing i always clamour for in salient matters as this one is that: it is very wrong for us to be in search of who is the ghoolib and the moghloob. It is however to establish what is haqq and closer to khayr which definitely lies in following the understanding of the companions( radiyalloohu anhum). Al-Imaam Aboo Muhammad Hasan bn Aliyy Al-barbahaariy (rahimahuLlaah) said in sharh sunnah that: Know may Allaah have mercy on you that knowledge is not many riwaayaat and books; but an aalim is the one who follows knowledge and sunnah; even when his knowledge and books are little. And whosoever differs from the Kitaab and sunnah; then he is a person of innovation even if he posses lots of knowledge and books. Elsewhere he(rahimahuLlaah) says: Know may Allaah have mercy on you that whoever says anything regarding the deen with his intellect; his qiyaas; or his taweel without evidence from the sunnah and the Jamaaa (the companions) has indeed said upon Allaah what he knows not and whoever says upon Allaah what he knows not is indeed from the mutakallifoon. Observing Iitidaal in this matter: It is without any reservation whatsoever that we say that the fataawa of Shaykh Uthaymeen Aboo AbdilLaah (rahimahuLlaah) being quoted by some of our brethren does not hold water with respect to IVC campings most especially the ones held at Christmas period and Easter period. We say: Except if the truth is to be hidden by our brethren; it is crystal clear that the basis of their intention for camping some of the muslims at these periods are due to the festivals of the kuffaar Laa shakka fee dhaalik. It was probably part of their strategies to include diraasaat as one of their agendas. Allaahul mustaaan. If we digest the fatwa of Shaykh Uthaymeen well we would understand that the verdict is for camping the muslims for diraasaat during their holidays. However this is not the intention of IVC from its basis. If indeed one the goers of this IVC camping is questioned on why he/she attends; the surest answer is that: so as to avoid the festivals of the kuffaar(disbelievers); and to also learn will probably come later as a zaada to the Jawaab. Naam....This implies that it is upon our brethren to renew their intention for camping these muslims as indeed we have said before that :there is no basis for abandoning living places for camping because of the festivals of the kuffaar. And we understand from the Usuul that when the niyya is wrong then the deed from it will also be wrong. Note however that no one had said that camping in its self is makrooh or haraam as indeed there are authentic aathaar which permits it for the sake of diraasaatu ilmiyya. We therefore advice that: Firstly; these periods of IVC should be cancelled and rescheduled. As indeed what do you desire to teach the muslims from the knowledge of the deen within 1 and a half weeks?????. Those who will understand will surely will. So if possible let the camping of the kidz for example be scheduled to their 3td term holidays which entails longer days and weeks as this will give more time to concretely breed them on the manhaj of the salafs. Secondly; these periods of IVC is closer to being untraceable to the salafs than being recommeded. And it is has before now being creating lots of doubtful affairs. Meanwhile; as reported in the mowaatin of Al-Imaam Aboo Zakariyya An-nawawee (rahimahuLlaah) in his Ar-baoon; the Prophet(sollaLloohu alayhi wasallam) said: Abandone that which brings doubt to that which is clear. May Allaah rectify the affairs of the Muslims.
