Regarding the Dontre Hamilton in Milwaukee, and many other situations like it. Where is the outcry for cohesive advocacy planning to battle the systemic problems at the broad base of these situations? Problems like: . Vast needs to reduce poverty? . Urgently needed improvements of mental health services? . Reduction of gun violence with annual background checks? . Additional tax money to support better police training?. The MKE County Democratic Party published a statement of complete support for the Hamilton family, thats fine. However, there is not even a hint of support for planning to solve the systemic local and national problems behind the issue. The statement should have showed respect for involved officials in the middle of a very difficult mess: DA Chisholm, Mayor Barrett, Sheriff Clarke, Executive Abele, all of whom have Democrat Party labels) and Chief Flynn. Milwaukee county like so many others and all state parties, need cohesive umbrella leadership. Only a political party, that has a platform for everyone to stand on, can provide this type of needed leadership.
