Regarding the Matter of the Nook. If the download button is gone - TopicsExpress

Regarding the Matter of the Nook. If the download button is gone from your Nook Library at BN, and/or if you can no longer sideload your books into the app of your choice (or, yanno, just save them to your hard drive), and if these issues Annoy/Inconvenience/Frustrate you, you need to let BN/Nook *know this*. Apparently there is a High Level of Corporate Cluelessness going on with this problem, including a lack of understanding of why there should be a problem at all. It is, therefore the job of people who actually read ebooks to educate Corporate. Be polite, but be forceful. I know yall are literate, so explain the problem and WHY its a problem clearly. I am, with her permission, bringing Cynthia Dix advice up here to the top so its not buried in comments. FIRST: Disclaimer: Cynthia Dix: Yes,Sharon, you have my permission. I need to remind everyone that while I work for B&N, none of what I say is official representation. PLEASE DONT put my name in any correspondence. I dont have specific names, departments, or addresses here at home--and sadly all the online wants to do is chat. I will rummage for something specific on my next shift. You can start with that online chat. Let them know the problem and your unhappiness--and ask for contact info so you can get farther up the chain of command. Locally, if you are near a store, call and ask for the District Managers name and office address. Dont be surprised if you have to push, just a little, to get this--most booksellers arent given easy access to that information and have to hand off to managers--who will be concerned about complaints about their specific store. Good Luck! AND: Cynthia Dix: Well, thank you all for helping me stir up a hornets nest over in our digital support group. So far we have *no official answers*--and most people we have asked about it either *dont understand the question* or *dont understand WHY this is an issue*. We will keep beating our heads against the wall. In the meantime, please, WRITE the B&N powers that be and let them know how and why you are not happy about this change. They listen to customers--especially en masse. They do not listen to us very well when we try to pass along customer unhappiness.
