Regarding the video of the brotha being delivered from being gay, dope Ferguson organizer, sis Ashley Yates (@brownblaze) just broke it all the way DOWN on twitter: BrownBlaze @brownblaze I know. I know. We dont always have to be so political. But stop sharing that video of the man being delivered from his gay. Its especially hurtful to watch Blk folks who commend us for our bravery in Ferguson make a mockery of a young man forced into repression. Not only is the suppression and denial the church encourages reflective of the authoritarian state, its life-threatening. And our Black Queer youth are especially at risk. Our suicide attempts are already higher as black and brown folks. Couple that with queer and it increases times 8. But laugh on. Laugh on at a brother who has been taught its necessary to deny himself human totality in order Laugh on while the rate of homeless queer youth is double the actual percent of queer youth in the overall population. Its a slap in the face to the NUMEROUS queer people who furthered the Black liberation movements and allowed yo Black ass to be here.
