Reich is brilliant and one of my faves so Im thrilled to hear of these reports -- that the Ayn Randites are waking up to the fact that they need people to buy their products. But its one more signal that the financial giants are in charge of the playbook. We need a divorce. We need Sullivan Countys Industrial Development Agency (IDA) to seek out companies who will build an organic baby food bottling plant in our county. We need to capitalize on our own sustainable, renewable assets right here in our own back yards. We need our farmers to grow healthy food and to prosper. We need to put our own people to work. When has Sullivan ever gained by waiting for the pols or bankers to share their crumbs?
