Rejected professor Steven Salaita, whose job was revoked just before he was to start at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, appeared on campus today to urge officials to give him his job back. His first public comments since his job offer was rescinded come two days before the board of trustees is to meet and a day after the chancellor said there is “no possibility” that he will teach on campus. Salaita’s attorney said today that if he is not reinstated, he will pursue legal action.
