Rejecting this Marigaux M2 Oboe Overhaul after levelled and corrected chipped off tone holes (RM150), Bore oiled, installed 23 pieces of gold plated springs ( RM500, originally RM690 ), remove tarnished keys, posts and body ring ( RM200 ), installed 7 cork (RM280) pads & key corks, 2 pieces of tenon corks ( one on the head joint & 1 on the bottom joint - RM70 ). Total of Approximately RM1200. Two years warranty for this oboe overhaul and 1.5 years warranty for the gold plated springs. I have tried my best to get this oboe done as soon as possible and I almost miss my flight to Japan after spending the last 18 hours continuously working on it in order to give it back to the owner so that he could use it for his rehearsal and upcoming performance. Borrow a new Bulgheroni FB-101 Oboe while Im working on the oboe so that at least he has something to use although in the end he doesnt. Nothing is for sure whether to get it done on time or get it done as players wanted instantly. Rushing repair will definitely do a bad job especially when you have not slept for 28 hours. This is my way of working with instruments, instrument will not delivered if it is not done as I expected it to be. I will not charge for the work I did not complete even though expensive parts and supplies have been installed. My job is to get the instrument done at the best condition possible before it reaches the musicians hand. I can only say sorry, I am not your technician of choice, it is nobodys fault, it just that we dont click.
