Rejoinder To Pastor Comrade John Danfulani’s Sermon… By Antiokari Kazzah Pastor, I read your sermon and decided to quickly air my views before entering our church…I am not privileged to have church like you...your message supposed to focus on Southern Kaduna area and not the entire state… I want you to come out clearly and preach that Southern Kaduna present dilemma is largely our own creation…though, we are not ignorant of some realities in our history... No matter the inglorious experience of the past…both in the hands of British colonialists and their agents of indirect rule…Southern Kaduna had leaders with direction and of course fearless minds… With limited mission education in the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, and limited Western education in 1970s and 1980s and full blown exposure and education say in 1992…we read and personally experienced brave leadership of our peoples…principled leaders…who resisted feudalism and oppression…some paid with their lives and some ended up in prisons…as we speak there are Southern Kaduna activists from the 1946 Zangon Kataf District crisis that never returned…and their whereabouts or graves still unknown… In the 1950s, the late Chief of Kagoro, Malam. Gwamna Awan was among the pioneers of the Middle Belt struggle for identity…from the then Southern Zaria area of the lager Zaria Providence…the then Chief of Jaba, then Malam Dogo Nouro and Chief of Moro’a of blessed memory were all leaders with sterling qualities…political space was limited…and as such they were the alternative voice…and they never compromise…their struggle formed position presented to the famours Henry Wilink Commission of 1957…three other members of the commission, Gordon Hadow and J.B. Shearer in their private notes made attribution to them… Memorable histories of the past…when one read about Dauda and Musa Haruna politicking…purely community and liberation tilted political activism…liberators we have in Shekarau Lauhaya, Didam Kagoro, Tonak Dabos, Jehu Gwani, Maude Gyani, Nuhu Kures, Grace Chechets, John Abokis, Daniel Hyuks and many others… Today in 2013…in a democratic experiment ministration…who are the sincere and fearless Southern Kaduna leaders and politicians? Who are those courageous leaders like Didam Kagoro? Who are those fearless politicians like Grace Chechet? Where are the new advocates that vowed to replace the likes of our fathers, Profs. Steve Nkom, Yusufu Turaki? Where are the youths that will sell our birth rights for meal ticket? Yes, we are people of faith, but who know when Southern Kaduna will recover from worst mis-management of collective political opportunities ever gotten? You should preach to your congregation…that they must wake up and face realities; we are all guilty of the charge, we talk too much, we ventured too much in devil business and yet we want God to free us…we gossip too much, we play to the gallery with nothing to show…we kept going round and round in cycle of hypocrisy…we hold Bible yet practices evil…We creates false allegations against ourselves... For instance General Overseer, in your own struggle ministries, little funds to help navigate ship of struggle…are squandered by self imposed undemocratic leadership…with impunity without sense of shame… Yet, same corrupt clergy are seen preaching in your ministries…people that cannot account for ministration offerings and tithes…people who are holding microphone with lies, poor leadership skills and always claiming ownership of the gospel…I don’t know if Jesus Christ claimed ownership of gospel in Antioch…ministries stand today because of few credible believers if not…ministries would have been in ruins… Pastor, can Southern Kaduna ministry be redeem going by this your prosperity based theology instead of Liberation Theology we read in Latin America? As for me, I am weeping for the ministries in Southern Kaduna…the ministries in Zaria, Birnin Gwari and Makarfi are focus ministries…they are out for real and not preaching prosperity but realism…like you..
