Veneration of relic of saints has been practiced since the 3rd Century. Faithful usually gathered and celebrate the Holy Liturgy in the Catacombs on the grave of the Martyrs of Faith. Relic are divided into three classes namely 1st class relic (relic of passion of Christ and physical remains of holy persons; body, hair, flesh, blood, ashes of the body etc.) , 2nd class relic (items belong to the holy persons; books, rosary, clothing, stationaries etc.) and 3rd class relic (sacramental or cloth touched to either 1st or 2nd class relic).
