Religion and Placebo in Relation to Mind Great philosophers and - TopicsExpress

Religion and Placebo in Relation to Mind Great philosophers and scientists like Plato have worked excellently on religion and mind while medical science worked on placebo in relation to physical-health of brain. Example: Patient suffering from headache. In the religion realm, the level of committement sometimes used to measure the percentage of belief within the mind. (This is a general perception as an assumption to being close to God). Many religion practitioners believes in no drug, instead, miracles and prayers. All could be attached to how our mind works. For example, as stated in the above general example, in religion, water can be sanctified, taken and the sickness (headache) disappears. As believed, prayers cure all diseases. Clearly concluded, faith is at work foR the illness. That is, faith stand between mind and religion belief. Scientifically, actions of Placebo in relation to mind and brain works. From the above general example, if a placebo is given to the patient, s/he assumes or feel the disappearance like two minutes after taken the placebo pills. It has been proved scientifically that, for any drug to function, it takes at least 15minutes before the reaction could be felt. At this point, mind is at work in conjunction with faith of the carrier. Our mind is the architech of our belief and faith. How do we relate (Problem-solution) in the context of mind, religion, placebo and faith. Two models will be formulated. One for religion while the other is for science. Let Pr= problem Pl = placebo M = mind Rel = religion F = faith S = solution Model 1: Religion Pr--> M --> Rel --> F (M)--> S Model 2: Scientific Pr--> M --> Pl --> M --> S In conclusion, it showed that mind is the greatest architech of human solution, though, religion and science work hand-in-hand Written by: Ale Olagoke Sunday
