The man known for supporting the assault on Syria has now changed sides and objecting any intervention in Syrian matters . No one asked him why he did not adopt this position previously that is more in conformity with his Nasserite tendencies. Nasserite or not , the so called leader could not say one word regarding Egypts peace agreements with Israel and the normalization at all levels with the Israelis . This a major taboo in Egypt and no one - not only Subahi -can utter a word about questioning these agreements or going over them and check them and even change them . There is constant mutism regarding this matter that seems to be a dangerous matter to handle with care or to drop altogether. The question is how Egypt is to recover its Arab leadership and role as a leading country with such shameless agreements that are not to be reconsidered or -at least-questioned.
