Remarks by ANC National Spokesperson, Comrade Jackson Mthembu - TopicsExpress

Remarks by ANC National Spokesperson, Comrade Jackson Mthembu following our social media live chat today It was an honor to interact with yourselves; I hope we have been able to answer your questions to the best of our ability. We are still confident that the ANC over the past 20 years, after we fought for our liberation and we brought freedom, have been able to change lives of the South Africans for the better. Today South Africa is a far better place than it was when we got freedom in 1994. We can also confirm as admitted by many independent reports such as Goldman Sachs and Ernest & Young, that we have increased the number of people who are in full employment from 9 million in 1996 to 14 million in 2013. We have equally extended social security or social wage from 2.4 million people in 1996 to 16 million people receiving social grants. We have also ensured that many people have access to water, electricity and sanitation through our policy framework. We have made education and health accessible to all. Of course the journey still continues on these endeavors. I am proud that in the 20 years over 3 million houses have been built by my government and given for free to the deserving people of South Africa. We indeed have a good story to tell. Let us now all unite in action so that TOGETHER WE CAN FURTHER MOVE SOUTH AFRICA FORWARD in the next five years. If you have not registered to vote, you will not be able to move South Africa forward, together with us. Register to VOTE on the weekend of the 08th and 09th February 2014. We will have more leaders of my movement, the ANC, who will on a weekly basis engage with you on this platform. We believe this is an important platform for all of us to share information, but particularly for us as the ANC to share our manifesto commitments with all South Africans. On a weekly basis, we will follow up the on unanswered questions that were asked today.
