Thats right, the federal government is flying high! Since all is good inside the beltway, the State Department has been sure to stock up on all the necessities like a million dollar sculpture by an Irish-American artist and $180,000 on booze in the month of September alone, just in the nick of time before the government shut down. Doesnt it make you feel warm inside this time of year that our federal government gets to spend extravagantly while its citizens struggle? We didnt think so. Our government has drifted so far from their responsibilities of being careful stewards of taxpayer funds that their spending has become a slap in the face to the people that pay their checks. It is time we get serious and start speaking out against the double standard that politicians hold in Washington D.C. It is time to make sure that the Contract From America and its call for balanced budget becomes a reality! While a million dollars here and a couple hundred thousand there, may not seem like a major thing, it is indicative of the way that the government operates. Reckless spending runs wild at all levels of government and lack of oversight and leadership is to blame.
