Remember that meet we hosted with Mighty Car Mods? They turned the whole scenario into a video concentrating on the LA Car Scene as a whole. Check out the interviews shot at our warehouse and some shots of the meet itself. If you arent in California, we have to deal with very very strict smog laws. A.K.A The Nazi State Exhausts have to be under a certain decibel reading, we cannot legally have a majority of the motor swaps out there unless the vehicle is in the 15 year + rule, older imports get hit with a thing called star smog which makes finding an illegal smog extremely difficult, and LA County setups smog stations on unknown days to catch vehicles for illegal modifications. Vehicles caught have to pay hefty fines, 30 day impounds, and possible crushing. Pending license situation and insurance status. Most people now a days have resorted to either having a strict towed track car, garage queen, night time canyon ripper, or to just slam the shit out of their daily. Cops are even cracking down on lowered vehicles. I have seen photos uploaded on instagram of police literally measuring cars. The days of performance modifications arent dead tho. They have been transformed into low profile or sleeper setups. People who usually have higher horsepower in a targeted car usually run stealthy low decibel exhaust systems, recirculated setups, and stock looking mods. A dreaded hood pop or bar inspection costs hundreds of dollars and could shut down a modified vehicle instantly. Red flagged in DMV database. Most people will have to resort to going back to stock, getting checked, paying the fine, then either selling the car or putting the parts back on. Some people just quit the modified car life as is due to the complications. I understand its difficult to modify a car nowadays with pay rates, reliability, and cops cracking down on us. So people just make do with making their car unique and just enjoy what they have. Check out the video and if you have any questions, just ask in the comment box below and we will answer them when we have time.
