Remember that tomorrow at high noon is our David Wooster Day - TopicsExpress

Remember that tomorrow at high noon is our David Wooster Day Celebration in New Haven. It is also the 235th Anniversary of the Invasion of New Haven by British forces. Our location is Fort Wooster Park in New Haven, one of the primary locations of the skirmishes between patriots and the British troops. There will be a flagpole and memorial dedication, a cannon salute, reenactors in colonial garb, a fife and drum band, and speeches by the Grand Master, Friends of Fort Wooster, Connecticut SAR, Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution, Inc. and State Senator Martin Looney. After the official celebration, there will be a pig roast lunch with all the fixin (beans, cole slaw, roast chicken, corn on the cob, and indian pudding). This lunch is provided free of charge by Quinta Essentia Lodge No. 500 and the tent, tables and chairs are provided by the Grand Lodge of Connecticut. Please note that parking will be limited on Beacon Ave. However, there is plenty of parking at Fort Hale Park a mile away. Masonicare has graciously provided a bus to transport people from this parking lot to Fort Wooster Park. (See the link for details) The event is open to the entire community. Brothers are encouraged to wear their aprons to show our support for this great occasion and the continued revitalization of this historic location. The weather channel is reporting that tomorrow will be a sunny day with a high of 81F and 0% chance of rain. It should be a beautiful day. We hope to see all of you there tomorrow!
