Remember the trapped Orca in Quebec? From the Arctic Elder Society, link below, please donate and help this GREAT group. Your donations will help implement positive solutions for future trapped marine-life and birds: "Did you know that turning on a light switch in places like Quebec or New York directly impacts Arctic sea ice ecosystems? You may have thought electric heat was clean and green, but if you use hydroelectric power in eastern North America, you may be contributing to reversing the seasonality of rivers. Rivers naturally peak in the spring when the snow melts, but winter peaks in hydroelectricity demands divert the flow of rivers into James and Hudson Bay at the wrong time of year, with big consequences for sea ice ecosystems. Because freshwater freezes quicker and at warmer temperatures than sea water, extensive areas of Hudson Bay can suddenly freeze trapping vulnerable Arctic wildlife such as the birds and whales featured in our video"
