Good news & much joy in the Holler!!! Amanda drove me to my appointment with Dr Ryan Collar yesterday. It was great to see all his wonderful staff. If youre going to mess with cancer, this is undoubtedly the best posse to ride with. (excuse the grammar - Im still giddy!) After he finished examining me, he was almost dancing with joy and beaming a grin that ony a man without a face full of sitches can manage. He announced that on January 15, I will go to the West Chester Hospital for the Grand Re-opening of my mouth!!! This event will be followed shortly by the oral consumption of much meat in all its muscular texture and possibly non-stop conversation (at least until my jaws get too tired and/or anyone within hearing range gets tired & moves out of earshot or hangs up the phone.) There are still quite a few steps to go along this trail; using part of my ear and a flap of skin from my forehead to rebuild my nose, but I am celebrating this victory and inviting all my family & friends who have shared this journey to join me.
