Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt; How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God. Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it. - Deuteronomy 25:17-19 This weeks lesson title comes directly from Gods command that we NOT FORGET to REMEMBER what Amalek did to His people. The Amalekites were the first nation to attack Israel after their departure from Egypt. Put this together: Israels leaving Egypt is a type (a Biblical model) of salvation. They were in sin and YHWH pulled them out and put them into a situation where they could focus on Him and His law. Immediately, Amalek (the world) came along and tried to trip Israel up. This is a picture of the world trying to trip up the new Christian today, especially the feeble, faint and weary (the weak Christians who dont bother to read the Word and grow in grace and knowledge of Yeshua).
