Remember when building models was fun? I sure do! The problem now is that there are so many armchair experts on virtually every subject that if you share your work online , there is always someone there to tear it down and let you know everything you did wrong. It seems nobody appreciates the hobby for what it is anymore. Dont get me wrong, I am all for quality work and striving for excellence but sometimes, more often than not most people build models to simply enjoy the experience! Case in point, I built my latest two models (kFIR and Javelin) without using any real refs. Why? That is easy. I like the subjects enough to build them but have little vested interest in them to spend cash on refs. I trusted the instructions and decal placement guides. You know what? I had a blast building them because I just wanted to have fun. I dont mind criticism at all. I welcome it in fact. That being said, I am 44 years old and if I tried to accurize every model I build I would end up like those same experts that never build because of manufactured excuses as to why they cant . I know, this coming from a guy who makes resin correction parts right? Those corrections were and are for things I am passionate about and I would never begrudge anyone for not using them and just enjoying what came in the box. Cheers Mike
