Remember when pencils were king? Before ballpoint pens? Real ink in inkwells? Did you have one of these? Or did you just give the pencil to Grandpa and he sharpened it with his knife? We kept our pencils till we could not hold it in our fingers as they were a bit expensive to keep replacing? Ink was formal and for letter writing? You had to keep dipping the pen into the ink to write? Cursive was the only way to write a letter to a friend? How many of us still write cursive? I think I have pretty much forgotten cursive I learned in St Leos...we had desks with ink wells (good for putting the girl in front of you pigtails in!). Now most people print?
