Remembering Shakti Samanta The man gave us memorable movies studded with brilliant songs. One song from Aradhana always moves and leaves me vulnerable. Generally I never hold myself in demonstrating emotions but whenever I listen to this song I try to hide myself, would slip in some corner and repent for all the harsh words inadvertently spoken to my dear mother. I am of a firm belief that life is beautiful without weight of expectations and human beings should idolize birds who after nurturing their offspring prepare them to take their own distinct flight without any burden. This song hits me with tsunami of emotions and when I look up I find my ageing mother retaining even greater warmth and affection in those dried sparkling eyes as if telling me to hug her. With age one feels hesitant but this song strongly moves me to go closer and confide with her that I am blessed to have a mother like you.
