Remembering our dear friend, Gregory Donnell Smithe, a talented cellist who lost his life at the age of 25 on October 19, 1986. Greg was a gifted musician and one of only a few emerging African American classical cellists at the time. His death was a tragic and devastating blow to all who knew him. I remember him presenting a moving performance of Bachs Cello Suite, No.1.
