Remembering the awful day 241 marines died from the suicide bomb at the Lebanon barracks, 30 years ago today. Sadly, President Reagan made the worst decision of his presidency, to pull out of Lebanon because of it. That so convinced the terrorist chiefs that America didn’t have the stomach to set things right in Lebanon that they adopted the awful strategy of suicide bombings against U.S. interests long term and en masse. We have reaped the consequences of that decision for thirty years, including 911 and the consequential losses in two foreign wars.
