Remembering yesterdays thread concerning roads, and how they got - TopicsExpress

Remembering yesterdays thread concerning roads, and how they got their names, I find it hard to believe that Tanner Bridge Rd. was not named for one of the early Tanners in JCMO. I have searched all of my resources, and couldnt find a thing other than the building, and opening of the new bridge. When it was opened, some one called it the Panama Canal of Cole county since Tanner Bridge Rd. was a main road for people who lived South of JC, to have a more direct route, rather than have to go so far out of their way to get to town. There was no mention of a specific Tanner though. The first bridge was built in 1907 if I remember correctly.
