Reminder: CALL FOR PAPERS AND PARTICIPATION C.A.K.E. - Animation Conference Creative Animation Knowledge Exchange Edge Hill University 14th – 18th July 2014 Deadline for submission: 14th February 2014 (Abstracts for Papers and Posters) In July 2014, Edge Hill University will be hosting a unique Sino/UK conference/festival on creative animation practice research. The conference represents a core strand within the Creative Animation Knowledge Exchange (C.A.K.E.) event that celebrates a growing relationship between the UK and Chinese animation industry and education sector. The objective of C.A.K.E. is to nurture a long-term cultural partnership with the ambition to form new collaborations, commissions and enterprise relating to creative animation practice, industry, academic research and knowledge exchange. The event will take the form of a five-day conference where the central aim will be to discuss research around creativity and animation. We wish to examine what it means to be creative in animation, how various understandings of creativity are shaping the industry, which tools do we use to create animation, and how cultural collaborations between UK and China might lead to new forms of creativity, new practice, new opportunities for enterprise and research.
