Reminisce, May D, En-go-blow….. to feature in Students Union week Ekiti State University Students Union week is an annual gathering of all the students of the University to appraise our past, examine our present and design a better future for the over 48,000 thousand members of our union. The Students Union Week started about twenty years ago and it has since gradually developed to an annual festival that has passed the test of time and difficult challenges. The last Students Union week witness an unprecedented students participation as both full time and part time Students came together in the fun and reality of the moment to celebrate another successful student calendar year. THE 2014 STUDENTS UNION WEEK Having carefully observed our collective needs, aspirations and social needs, this years Students Union week has been slated to hold between lst-5th September, 2014. This years Students Union week promises to be the best of its kind as many activities will be introduced to make it the most unique ever and also make it the best students festival across the borders of Nigeria. In lieu of this, the following programmes has been scheduled for the week DAY 1: Students Union Congress/Declaration of the week open and solidarity rally across faculties. DAY 2: Morning Session: Public Lecture Youths and the 21st Century Challenges: The Way Forward to be delivered by Com. Hon. Jude Imagwe, The Senior Special Adviser to The President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria DAY3: Morning Session: Inter Faculty Debate DAY 4: Morning Session: Students Marathon Race Afternoon Session: Final of Vice Chancellors Students Union Cup DAY 5: Students Union Show, Featuring: Reminisee /May D, En-go- blow etc AIMS AND OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDENTS UNION WEEK 1. To re-awaken the students socio-cultural awareness. 2. To foster unity within the students populace. 3. To create a platform for Students to contribute to issues of national interest through debates and discussions. 4. To encourage social integration irrespective of ethnical, religious and individual differences through sport and social activities. 5. To cooperate with sponsoring corporate bodies in creating relationship/audience between them and our students towards mutual benefits.
