Remove the idea that the number you see looking back at you on the scales is the sole determinant of the success of your nutrition regime. Contrary to popular belief, there is no magical number hovering in halo-like fashion above our heads displaying our body weight for the world to see. The only person in the world that cares what you weigh, is you. There are SO MANY factors which impact upon the exact amount of pressure you are placing on the earth at any given moment. Carbs Water Sodium Hormones Bathroom Performance Fibre Thats just to name a few. All of these things can affect how much you WEIGH. If you drink 3 liters of water before jumping on the scales, does that mean youve gained 6lbs of body fat? Of course not! Common sense has to prevail when tracking progress. Yes - track the way your weight changes from week to week, but take it with a pinch of salt. Track your measurements, your macros, your fibre intake & take regular progress photos. The more information you have, the better educated your decision can be when you make a change. Look at the whole picture, not just the weird abstract looking part in the corner, if youll excuse the terrible metaphor. A number on the scale shouldnt matter if your measurements are shrinking & your body composition is improving; theres so much more to life than a number on the scale. If youre sick of the scale staying stagnant & feel as if your physique isnt developing or improving as you feel it should despite your best efforts, make sure to shoot me a message to discuss coaching options & what you might be able to do better.
