Rene Palmer HoltRuss G. Palmer Update on Russ G. Palmer for Tuesday 3/4/2014 and Wednesday 3/5/2014. My nasty stomach bug has moved on but I am left getting updates second hand and somewhat unclear at times for now to make sure that I dont carry anything else to Russ. We are blessed beyond measure that Russ was moved from ICU just after 7PM Tuesday evening. Wednesday dawned with some new challenges and continued monitoring of the blood clots and pneumonia. Dialysis took off another 7 pounds of fluid and during the 4 1/2 hour treatment there was some problems with the blood clotting and dialysis was slowed down and then stopped. Shortly after, Heparin and Coumadin were being administered to help with the problem that came up during dialysis. I am sorry that I dont know more about the problem but I have given Mom a list of questions to ask the doctor and will plan to call for an update tomorrow as well. The good news is that Physical Therapy is eager to get their hands on Russ. Although he is ready as well, barely moving for nearly 17 days makes an old body quite stiff and sore so the PT team will definitely have their hands full getting him back in shape. No pain....No gain! I dont have any current updates on our Cousin Erik and at this late hour and apologize to those of you who are praying and following his story here. I know that the prayers are needed as they try to determine what is going on and I trust that God will shed light on the cause. Even though the illnesses that we have experienced with Russ and Erik have been challenging, I know that we are blessed beyond compare and ask that you also remember others in your prayers tonight (in no certain order of course).... First, continue to pray for our sweet friends who will still remain unnamed. I do not know the full details of the battles ahead of them but God does so please remember them. Second, please pray for baby Blake and his parents, Adam and Amber Murdock-Shore. Baby Blake is having an MRI tomorrow that will determine if his brain tumor is malignant or benign. Blakes Mommy was quite anxious today and I know that God will continue to hold them in his hands as they wait for the test results. Third, please pray for the Martha Everhart Surratt and Mary Surratt Curry families as their Mother/Granny was admitted to Hospice. These are strong women with solid faith and loving hearts and as difficult as this is, please let God surround them with peace during these difficult days. Fourth, please pray for the Swicegood family as they mourn the loss of young Troy this week after a tragic accident. I know their hearts are shattered and hope they too can find comfort in being surrounded by prayers and love of friends and family. Last, please pray for the families that have lost loved ones in home fires over the last 3 weeks. I know that at least some were due to space heaters and the most recent included the loss of a mother and 2 young children. With another cold snap coming at the end of the week, the risk is so high and the loss of life is too precious so pray for families safety and warmth during the last days of winter. Thank you all for being prayer warriors for Russ and Erik and for the named and unnamed... It is absolutely amazing to know that so many wonderful people are out there and we are blessed to call you our friends and family!
