Renouncement Real renouncement means that we give up personal sense gratification and engage our senses in the service of Krishna. We cannot simply say “I renounce” and then do or be nothing. Just like we cannot vacate a room without migrating to another room. We are eternal and we always have to do something and be somewhere. The void doesn’t exist. Srila Prabhupada came to us to give us guidance through the teachings of the parampara (disciplic succession) that goes back to Lord Krishna Himself. He taught us to avoid any kind of impersonalism and voidism. We therefore can renounce the material world only if we become Lord Krishna’s bhaktas (devotees).
