Renter question: What is considered normal wear and tear after a years rental, on an older home? If that home has been professionally cleaned, and carpets professionally cleaned, but a small stain on the bedroom carpet (which wasnt new carpet in the first place) remains....and the cleaners evidently didnt wipe down the front of the kitchen cupboards, and left some sweeping that should have been caught leaving crumbs under the kitchen cupboards...neither of which I caught when I inspected....should $100.00 be taken out of my deposit? $50.00 for each thing? Reasonable? Curious. I am paying it, but just want to know what is common practice.
