Renting? Then you probably dont have solar panels. The figures just came out, and over 2,000 homes and businesses have gone solar since the beginning of the year. Thats great news. But in places like ours, where many more people rent, its much lower - just 2.6% in the state seat of Richmond. Right now, theres no financial incentive for landlords to put solar panels up. They bear the upfront cost, but the tenants would get the benefit, so they dont bother and renters pay in higher electricity bills. The Greens would change that, giving landlords no-interest and low-interest loans through our Green Energy Fund.
