Report: LG working on Windows Phone based handset In a report published byLightReadingIndia,Kwon Soon who works as LG India’s Managing Director has reportedly revealed thata WP8 based handset is already under R&D. This however doesn’t mean that they will shift focus awayfrom Android which powers most ofLG’s smartphone portfolio. The company plans to introduce as manyas 30 new devices by end of 2014 and a majority of these will likely bepowered by Android. Uptake for the Microsoft’s mobile operating system has been slow with Nokia being the chief partner and HTC having done its part through the 8S and 8X handsets. While Chinese vendors Huawei and ZTE have committed to introducing Windows Phone handsets, Microsoft will need to engage more partners like LG to gainfurther traction.
