Report from last Sundays three team tournament@Mapo High School, August,3rd 2014 Slightly impacted by the weakening typhoon Matmo we challenged two Korean teams last weekend. Again a nice number of 17 motivated players gathered for this mini-tournament while it kept raining the whole afternoon. First game was against the home team HIS FC and we started with our strongest line up. Good passes, running activities and positional play was characterizing this match. So it was no surprise that we won 3:0 being head and shoulders above HIS FC. 1:0 Matze (Assist: Mike); 2:0 Alex (Assist: Matze); 3:0 Danny (Assist: Matze). Our second opponent Team X (dont know the real name ;-)) was considerably stronger. We also did some changes in our line up which had no negative effect in the beginning of the match. But the second game in a row let us lose some stamina and the opponent could combine easier up to our defensive line. Shortly before the end of the match Team X could score a little bit luckily the 1:0 victory goal. Eric could not make it to bring his arms and legs in the right order quickly enough, so the ball somehow went in through Erics body (Sorry Eric, just kidding a little bit ;-)). Third game again against HIS FC which ended 0:0 after going back and forth. None of the teams could really make the deciding goal although Daniel had two chances to score but targeted the post only....bad luck! In game four we wanted to take revenge to the 0:1 defeat against Team X and we went into the game with confidence and willingness. It went the other way round as our opponent scored the 1:0, but we did not give up and fought back! Result was a nice corner kick from Danny exactly to the head of Mike who scored the 1:1 tying goal. In the end we lost stamina again and got the 1:2 score from Team X who finally won this match. We saw some good scales in our game play this time, considerably better than our last match one week ago. Stamina is one point where our coach will have to hook up and give some training instructions. Thanks again to all players and supporters who attended last sunday!
