Report from the Ranch: Weve taken to Texas like a fish takes to water! The weather is exceptional, the scenery is spectacular and the people, famous for their southern hospitality, are warm, welcoming and oh-so-very laid back. To recover from the hectic pace of the Gelato World Tour, we put on our cowboy hats and opted for a much slower pace down at the Dixie Dude Ranch, deep in Texas hill country, just outside of Bandera, the cowboy capital of the world ... no cell, no internet ... just peaceful moon lit walks, riding through the hills under the mid-day sun, home-cooked meals around a large wooden table, bunked out in a small, rustic cabin, without a care in the world (thanks to our family and amazing staff back in Ottawa). Many thanks to Clayton - a freckled face, 9 year old authentic miniature Texan cowboy with pint-sized black cowboy boots, a little plaid shirt and the cutest cowboy hat youve ever seen, who gave us our first ever lesson in how to lasso a steer ... every time Id get it right hed exclaim Yes maam ... go git em. We are restored and ready to rumble! Yall ready for some good ole fashioned, handcrafted gelato? YeeHaw Ottawa, were coming home!!
