Report of project planning Intelligence improvement in Computer Gaming. Introduction : It is a project to build a system to improve the behavioral intelligence of different element/objects of computer games. Here term ‘system’ refers to a branch of logic and algorithm, which are to be applied in game design, for achieving the targeted goal. Base of this project is similar to Artificial Intelligence. But Artificial Inelegancy itself is a very broad topic. So we abstract most of the ideas of AI, and trying to apply those in a more generalizes way in game designing. Here in our project we are planning to build a 3D Demo game and some other Snippet of Games, to demonstrate our intelligence logic. Brief idea about the project As main aim of our project is to derive out a branch of logic, algorithm, and mechanism so that behavioral intelligence in PC gaming can improve. But before going to improvement part we need to find out the draw backs at first. We observe and analyze the intelligence behavior of some traditional games. Common drawbacks founded during this analysis are a. Computer players/elements/objects are specifically designed for some particular scenario. b. Actions, a computer player performs in a particular situation are predefine. For this reason computer player looks dumb/less intelligent c. Computer player don’t learn anything from its past experience. Because traditional game doesn’t have any concept of long term storage memory. Such as human can remember “What had happened last time to him, at this type of situation ” d. Computer player doesn’t improve their Intelligent Quality. e. If by mistake/somehow scenario of the game goes to such a state, for which designer did not planned for, then the game goes to a blocked state. This is because of the specific design of environment. This blocked situation is called “Hang” by the gamers. What we are planning to do? As per our analysis we select some of the above mentioned drawbacks and we are planning to build a system which will improve the quality in those areas. And as a final output some snippet of 3d games will be build to demonstrate how actually the whole things work. Area selected for improvement- a. Generalize environment design b. Involving the concept of long term memory storage c. Giving basic level reasoning power to in game elements, by analyzing their past experience. d. Batter dynamic environment awareness. How we are planning to demonstrate the system – As first step we are going to build a 3d demo game to represent various ideas which can improve the intelligence quality of the game. Main Strategy of the game is that there will be a computer player who has to travel from a source location to a destination location through different ‘checkpoints’. During this travel he/she (The computer player will) learn how to response in different situation. And keep the information of the result of present action for future use. Other things will be add on as per project development proceed. Tools and Technology used :- IDE – A. Software called “3dGameStudio” It contain following component a) 3d model designing interface b) 3d Environment designing interface c) Coding interface B. Dev C++. C. Photoshop CS. Programming Language used – A. “Lite-C” (An extended version of ‘C’) B. C++. Back end- A. File base data structure Team member with Co responding responsibility 1. Amar J.
