Repost: This page makes me feel that Im not alone. My son who is now 12 was diagnosed with LM of the neck two years ago. It was a battle of going back and forth to doctors for the first year. Even had a biopsy to check for cancers. Negative on all..Thank God!! It was officially diagnosed with an MRI. So we discussed our options. One was surgery..but it was too risky. It is lying against his jugular. It is a macrocyst of 5cm but is separated by a thin membrane in 3 sections with possible microcysts behind it on the right side of his neck. A few clusers on the left side. The other option was to do Sclerotherapy. They also want to do the wait and watch method. But what is concerning to me is now his Dr wants to do an MRI of his brain to see if any of the malformation is taking place in his brain. He is diagnosed with ADHD, mood disorder, ODD, anxiety, learning disabilities. Has had an abnormal EEG with suggested of left frontal lobe focalized seizures. His school Psych wanted to do an IQ test on him. He has Borderline Intelligence Disorder, with low working memory and some short term memory loss. So with all of these diagnoses he is scheduled to see a PEDs Neurologist in March for another possible EEG and a MRI. Sorry for such a long post, but Im hoping to find someone that is living the same thing or something similar here.
