Reposting: It is important to recognize everyones contributions - it empowers those involved - but in a movement that is growing by leaps and bounds demanding equally and justice for all - Why do we have too divide so-called leadership up by gender? Dont let the media or those with an agenda trying to divide the movement with Black vs White, Female vs Male, Gay vs Straight, Immigrant vs Citizen influence you or cause doubt - Stay on Message BLACK LIVES MATTER ALL LIVES MATTER WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER SHUT IT DOWN, SHUT IT DOWN There are many voices for the first time speaking out and what I have learned from listening to them is they were missing in earlier actions or movements but they were paying attention, learning their history and they had a lifetime of experience at the end of racisms cruel hand whether police, a teacher, a store clerk or a bank. These voices are speaking about the immediate justice for the families of Mike Brown, Eric Garner and all so many other families but they see beyond just the police abuses, they see a whole of the New Jim Crow systematic operation from schools, to jobs, to police, prosecutors, judges, to prisons, to parole - a cradle to grave system of oppression. It doesnt take a genius to figure out that none of this could have happened or continued to happen without the explicit support of our elected officials in government. Hell even the brain dead politicians know that the people are not going to allow them to continue their for profit policies of racism and control - that is why they have and are working so hard to deny your votes and germander your districts so they cant lose. You can see it as plain as the nose on your face, that the whole system is corrupt. These voices in the Black Lives Matter Movement are seeing and speaking a a positive message to change The System (the way are government is run and who runs it). The leadership is not one group or person over another but an organic We are One Great Voice for Black Lives Matter in that message is implicit All Lives Matter Please dont pollute that message with who is leading who or who doing more. Get involved, join the movement, for me it is the best promise of changing the future since Occupy Wall Street, and all those 60s movement anti-war, anti-racist and including the counterculture movement.
