Republican-American Newspaper Article: Southern Baptists accused of purging Calvinists from out of their midst. ASSOCIATED PRESS NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Is God’s saving grace free to anyone who accepts Jesus, (* MY answer: Yes. However, none seek Jesus without divine assistance. Gods word (scripture) declares “There is none that understandeth, there is NONE that seeketh after God.” Romans 3:11 God must intervene.) or, did God predestine certain people for heaven (* Yes God did, for if He did not predestinate, no one would come. NONE) “ And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.” John 5:40 “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, …. Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself,…” Ephesians 1: 4,5 and hell before the beginning of the world? (*No, God did not predestinate unto damnation. “Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. ”Matthew 15:14 This is just what God did. He let them alone. Sinful, unrepentant, mankind, to bring damnation upon their own heads. God needeth not to predestinate their destruction, they were able to do it all on their own. Their damnation come to them by the works of their own depraved hearts, upon their own heads. Question: How can two individuals come to two different conclusions after reading the bible. Simply put, He giveth more light to the one than to the other. “For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.” Psalms 36:9 “……and in the light of the divine word they see the truths of the Gospel in their native simplicity and excellency, and the duties of religion to be performed by them;” John Gill 1697 - 1771
