甘露法語 Nectar of Dharma Rains 密乘上師主要分為四類：對皈依上師或授戒上師，要尊重和恭敬， 要像人間的國王一樣對待；對重新皈依、重新授戒的上師，要像人間的親媽媽一樣對待；對灌頂上師、大圓滿傳承上師，要像自己的眼睛一樣對待；對根本上師、大圓滿竅訣上師，要像自己的心一樣對待，甚至比自己的心還重要。 Dharma teachers in the Secret Vehicle can be divided into four categories. The first type is masters who kindly take our refuge or transmit us precepts, to whom we should revere with great respect just like honoring the worldly kings. The second is teachers who receive our refuge or transmit us precepts more than once, whom we should treat with love like our own mothers. As far as the gurus who give us empowerments or the transmission of the Great Perfection, we ought to take good care of them just like our own eyes, which constitutes the fourth group. Moreover, we should attend to our root guru or masters who grant us pith instructions of the Great Perfection with such great circumspection as looking after our own minds, even more important than our minds.
