Reservation is certainly necessary for the upliftment of marginalised people. But if we closely observe people in the caste based reserved category than a question generally comes to mind that do they really need reservation? Students/ employees of various reserved categories are seen to move around the cities, towns or in the metro cities with posh accessories and lavish lifestyle. But still they get reservation just because they are born in certain caste category. Anyone and everyone can make non creamy layer certificate with corruption. But students of General Caste category might be living in foot to mouth existence might not get any support for her/his survival in worldly matters.In all caste, poor and rich exist. How much justified is this system of caste based reservation? Will it not be more proper to bring about reservation based on economic marginalisation? Indeed various caste groups in the reserved category had suffered since centuries. But a progressive nation should take the case and situation of present time and not cling only to what history had to say. Indeed caste based violence exist even today. But had the victim been economically empowered than would they have faced similar crisis? So, hoping the Modi govt to bring out some progressive change for giving support to them who actually need it. Not on the basis of caste privilege alone.
