Residential Volunteer vacancy in Reading. Skills needed: basic knowledge of your local region / community or a willingness to learn about what is going on in the community, basic communication and team building skills, ability to empathise and communicate appropriately with your peers in a professional way, a passion and enjoyment around working with young people, willingness and openness to learn new skills and ways of working with young people, reliable and committed to the aims of the programme. DESCRIPTION: • Supporting the Team Leader, Residential Mentors and other staff to deliver a successful programme • Encouraging young people to step outside their comfort zones and try new activities • Helping to deliver and facilitate team activities and sessions • Using your own experiences to inspire, challenge and motivate the young people • Supporting and encouraging the development of participants’ community projects and helping young people engage with people in their local area HOURS: Two week residential placement working Mon - Fri and staying for 4 nights PAY: £50 per week for travel expenses TRAINING: Formal in-house, job-specific training at 2 day training weekend (21+22 June, OR 28+29 June) FURTHER INFO: The job description is available in the multimedia file.
