He recently went on the radio to share his views. First being that there is no social injustice in #Brockton. That there are no big impacts of building a power plant in our city and that he does regular breathing exercises next to power plants. Is Jay Cashman that out of touch or does he think YOU are? Perhaps a better place for him to build his power plant would be on his private Cape Cod Island or next to his Boston mansion? They have organized, attended hundreds of meetings and hearings and successfully had the project halted in its tracks through a Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruling that by its own language “precludes construction of the facility. This 350MW power plant does not belong in our community, so close to our homes, our schools and our vulnerable children and senior citizens. Brockton is already overburdened with environmental degradation, toxic sites and pollution. Our residents have the highest asthma and respiratory illness rates in the Commonwealth. The plant will not create sustainable jobs for Brockton residents and Brockton will not enjoy economic benefits from the plant that outweigh the incredible losses that will compromise our health, well being and home and property values. No means no!
